Our office is located at K 18 in the Civil Zone of the Air Force Station at Subroto Park. It is a bit of a different environment compared to the rest of New Delhi because of the military area. Things are a bit more orderly outside, but inside our office, it is the same old busy atmosphere. We are just a small team handling the operations for Convergys in this zone. The space is functional. We have our computers and our phone lines and that is about it. There is no fancy art on the walls or expensive rugs. We are not here to impress anybody with how the office looks. We are here to get through the work that piles up. The commute can be a bit strict because of the security around the Air Force Station, so we have all gotten used to having our IDs ready. It is a quiet spot once you get inside the building. We spend most of the day looking at screens and talking amongst ourselves about the tasks we need to finish. There isn't any talk about corporate goals or visions here. We just know what we need to do each morning and we try to get it done by the time we leave. The weather in Delhi is always a topic of conversation, especially when it gets really hot or really dusty. We just keep the fans running and stay focused on the work. It is a simple, no-nonsense kind of place to work.
