Consulting

I’ve set up my consulting shop in Uttam Nagar, over at C 23 Anand Vihar. If you know this part of town, you know it can get pretty crowded and loud, but my little corner is my sanctuary. It is a straightforward place. I have a wooden desk that has seen better days and a couple of chairs that don't quite match. I started doing this because I realized people in the neighborhood needed someone to talk to about their business issues or general advice. I don't have a fancy title or a polished pitch. When someone walks through the door of C 23, they get me just as I am, usually with my sleeves rolled up. The walls are a bit plain, maybe they could use a fresh coat of paint, but the work gets done just the same. I spend a lot of time reading through documents and making notes in the margins. It’s not the kind of office you’d find in a movie, but it’s real and it’s mine. Anand Vihar is a place where people work hard, and I try to do the same for them. I don't have any employees, so if the phone rings, I am the one who picks it up. It keeps things personal. I like being able to look a person in the eye and tell them what I think without having to check with a manager first. It is just a simple way to help the community.
