If you’re coming to see us at Consultancy, you’ve got to climb up to the second floor at A 81 in Pandav Nagar. It’s a bit of a workout, especially in the Delhi summer when the air is thick and hot. Our office is a simple space. We don’t have a big lobby or a person waiting to greet you at the door. Usually, one of us will just look up from a computer and say hello. We do a lot of different things here, mostly helping people get their affairs in order. It’s practical stuff that needs doing. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we’re too busy to worry about that right now. We have a small balcony where we stand sometimes to catch a bit of air, though it’s mostly just a view of the other buildings and the power lines. It’s a noisy neighborhood, but once you’re inside, it’s not too bad. We’ve got a couple of old AC units that try their best. We’re just a small group of people who have been doing this for a long time. We know the ins and outs of the city and how things work here. We don't make big promises, we just try to help out where we can. It’s a quiet life, mostly paperwork and phone calls. We tend to finish our day when the sun goes down and the street lights flicker on.
