We are tucked away at R 118 B 4 in Malviya Nagar, specifically in the Khirki Extension area of New Delhi 17. The office is in a busy part of the neighborhood where there’s always something going on outside the window. We spend our days going through piles of applications and checking over personal documents for people looking to get their finances in order. It’s a lot of sitting at desks and making phone calls to verify details. The space isn’t very large, so when we have a few people waiting, it can feel a bit crowded. We don’t use any of those big corporate slogans; we just talk to people plainly about what they need and what the paperwork says. Khirki Extension can be a bit of a maze, so we often have to give directions over the phone to folks trying to find our door. We’ve got a small water cooler in the corner and a few old chairs that have seen better days. Most of our work involves helping people figure out the numbers so they can manage their bills or buy something they need. It’s steady work that requires a lot of attention to detail because one wrong digit can mess everything up. We keep the fans running all day to deal with the Delhi heat. It’s just a normal office doing normal work for the people around Malviya Nagar and we just keep it simple here.
