Chaman Kumar Sharma

Chaman Kumar Sharma is based at E 506 on the Kabul Nagar Main Road. It’s a convenient spot because it’s right on the main street. You can see the traffic passing by all day long. The office is small, just a couple of rooms really. Chaman is there most of the time, sitting at the big wooden desk. We have some metal cabinets for all the files and a small bench for people to sit on while they wait. The walls are painted a light color, but they’ve faded over the years. We have a small calendar on the wall that we mark every day. It’s not a high-tech place. We do things the old-fashioned way mostly. Kabul Nagar is a busy neighborhood with lots of houses and small shops. We know the neighbors pretty well and often say hello when we’re heading out for lunch. There is a small park nearby where it’s a bit quieter, but here on the main road, it’s always loud. We get a lot of dust from the road, so we have to wipe down the desks every morning. It’s just a simple life here. Chaman doesn't like to complicate things. We have our routine and we stick to it. Sometimes the mail is late, or the water delivery doesn't show up, but we just manage. It’s a real place with real people doing their best every day. We don't ask for much more than that.
