Central Government

Our small branch of the Central Government is located right inside Meera Apartments, specifically in 309 Gh4. This is in Paschim Vihar, New Delhi. If you’ve ever been to this part of Delhi, you know it’s a massive residential hub. The apartments are always full of life. It’s a bit unusual for people to expect a government office inside a residential complex like this, but we make it work. The space is a bit cramped because of all the documents we have to keep. New Delhi is always noisy, but once you get inside the apartment block, it gets a little quieter. We have a few computers and a lot of registers. People from the nearby blocks often drop by for various small tasks. The lift in the building sometimes acts up, so we end up taking the stairs a lot. It keeps us moving. Our day starts around nine and goes on until the work is done. There’s no fancy cafeteria, so everyone brings their own tiffin or goes to the local market nearby for a quick snack. It’s a very simple existence. We don’t have a big marketing budget or anything like that because we don’t need it. We are just here to do the job assigned to us by the department. It feels more like a community center than a cold government office, which is fine by us.
