British High Commission

We are the British High Commission operating out of New Delhi. Even though the address says New Delhi In Us, we are right here in the city dealing with all the usual stuff that comes with being a diplomatic office. Our main job is to look after the interests of the UK and help out people here who have business there. It’s a lot of administrative work, to be honest. We spend many hours checking passports, looking over visa applications, and making sure all the legal bits are in order. It’s a steady kind of job with a lot of routine. We see a fair amount of people every day, each one looking for some kind of help or information. Some are students, some are going for work, and others just want to visit family. We try to keep things moving so nobody is waiting around longer than they have to. The office is a busy place, with phones ringing and people typing away at their desks. It’s not always quiet, but we are used to the pace of life here in Delhi. We don't really do anything besides the official duties, so it’s a very straightforward operation. We’ve been part of the city for a long time, and we just keep doing what we’ve always done, which is managing the connection between these two places. We deal with local matters and international ones all day long without much rest.
