If you head into Anand Parbat and find Gali No 9, you will eventually run into N-2, which is our little spot. Bomrah Plastics has been tucked away in this lane for years. It’s one of those parts of Delhi where the streets are narrow and everything feels a bit cramped, but that is just the character of the place. Our unit is mostly filled with the smell of heated plastic and the sound of machines running. It’s not the kind of place where you wear a suit. We are usually in our work clothes, checking on the molds or moving crates. The space is tight, so we have to be very careful about where we stack the finished goods. Sometimes the delivery rickshaws have a hard time turning around in the alley, which causes a bit of shouting, but it’s all part of the daily routine here. We don't have a receptionist or a lobby. If you walk in, you’re basically standing right in the middle of the production area. We know our neighbors well, and we often borrow tools or help each other out when a machine breaks down. It is a very hands-on environment. We just produce the plastic items as per the orders we get and try to stay ahead of the deadlines. The walls are a bit stained from the smoke and age, but the machines still run fine. It’s honest work in a busy neighborhood.
