Balaji Printers

Our shop is located in the Patthar Market area of Mangolpur Kalan. It’s shop number 70, right in the mix of all the stone sellers and other businesses. Balaji Printers has been here for a while. The air always smells like ink and paper, which is something you just get used to after the first week. We have a few different machines going, and they make a lot of clicking and whirring noises. Sometimes the paper jams and we have to spend an hour getting it sorted, which is frustrating but part of the job. We do a bit of everything, from small cards to bigger sheets. It’s a small space, so we have to stack the finished boxes wherever they fit. The market outside is always loud with people moving heavy stones, so we usually keep the door halfway shut to keep the dust out. It’s not a fancy office with air conditioning. It’s a workspace where we get things printed. We use old wooden tables for the cutting and sorting. Most of our customers are other business owners from the market who need things done quickly. We don’t have a website or anything like that; people usually just walk in or call us. We try to keep the machines clean, but it’s a constant battle with the ink. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from morning until late evening. Sometimes we stay late to finish a big run of posters. We have a small radio that plays music while we work.
