B S Rai

I've been here at Patiala House Courts for a while now. B S Rai is the name on the door at room 282. It’s a busy place, you know how courts are. I usually spend most of my day dealing with paperwork and meeting folks who walk through the door. It isn't anything fancy. Just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of files. People come here when they have things to sort out legally. I try to keep things straightforward. No big speeches or fancy promises, just the work that needs doing. Sometimes the hallways are loud, and sometimes it's quiet enough to actually think. I’ve seen a lot of changes around here over the years, but the court stays the same in many ways. I keep my hours pretty steady. If you’re looking for 282, you just head down the corridor and it's right there. I don't go in for big advertisements or anything like that. Word of mouth usually gets people to the right place. Most of my day is just reading through documents and making sure everything is in order. It's a job like any other, I suppose. I've got my routine down pretty well by now. The tea guy comes around twice a day, which helps. It's just me and the work most of the time. If you see the sign for B S Rai, that's where I'll be sitting. Nothing more to it than that. I usually lock up around five or six.
