Avivaindia

Our office, Avivaindia, is right at 43 Dayanand Nagar in Amritsar. It’s a familiar spot for a lot of people in this part of Punjab. We’ve been operating from here for a good while, and the building has seen a lot of seasons. Inside, it smells a bit like old paper and ink because of all the insurance documents we keep. We don’t have fancy furniture, just the stuff that works. Our day starts early with cleaning the dust off the desks before the first phone calls start coming in. We talk to people about their life insurance and try to explain things in plain words. It’s a lot of data entry and checking numbers over and over. Sometimes the neighbor's dog barks all afternoon, but we’ve gotten used to it. The people who come in are usually from the nearby streets, looking to update their addresses or check their policy status. We keep a pot of tea going most of the time. It’s a humble place, really. We aren't interested in sounding important; we just want to make sure the work is done right. Life in Amritsar moves at its own pace, and we just fit into that rhythm, handling one file at a time until the day is over and we lock up. It’s not much, but it’s our daily work and we do it carefully for the people who visit us. We just keep things moving.
