Avis Design & Interiors is located right in the middle of the chaos at 2587/10, Chuna Mandi in Pahar Ganj. If you know New Delhi, you know this area is always moving. Our shop is a bit small, but it’s where we get everything organized for our interior projects. We spend a lot of time dealing with vendors and making sure materials actually show up when they say they will, which is harder than it sounds. Inside the office, it’s usually a mix of fabric swatches, wood samples, and a lot of dust from whatever we're working on that day. We aren't some high-end showroom where you can't touch anything. Everything here is meant to be used and looked at closely. We take on all sorts of jobs, from fixing up a small room to helping out with bigger renovations. It’s mostly just us trying to make spaces look a bit better than they did before. Pahar Ganj can be loud and crowded, but it’s home for the business. We’ve learned to navigate the narrow lanes and the local markets to find what our clients need. It’s a lot of legwork. We don't have a big corporate structure, just a few of us who know a bit about design and a lot about how to get things done in this city. It’s tired work sometimes, but we like it. We just take it day by day.
