Working out of Patiala House room 509 can be quite a trip every single day. If you’ve ever been to Tis Hazari, you know exactly what the atmosphere is like around here. It is crowded, loud, and there is always something going on in the hallways. I’ve been in this spot for a while now, just handling the paperwork and meeting with people who need help navigating the system. My desk is usually covered in folders and notes because there is always a lot to keep track of. It’s not a polished environment by any means. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint and the chairs are a bit old, but they work well enough for sitting down to talk. I spend most of my hours here, between the court calls and the filing. People drop in and out all day long. Sometimes the lift isn't working right, so everyone takes the stairs, which keeps us moving. It's a practical way to spend the day. I don’t bother with fancy titles or anything like that. People just know me as the guy in 509. It’s a tough place to work sometimes because of the heat and the noise, but it’s where the action is. I just focus on the tasks at hand and try to get through the pile of work before the day ends. There isn't much more to it than that.
