The shop is at 41-B in the N Block area of Lakshmi Nagar, and we call it Arc Electricals. It’s a typical electrical shop, nothing too special to look at from the outside. Inside, it’s a different story with wires hanging and boxes of switches stacked up to the ceiling. We mostly sell the regular things people need for their houses, like copper wire, circuit breakers, and light fixtures. A lot of the time, someone comes in with a burnt-out part and asks if we have something that matches it. We spend a lot of time looking through catalogs or checking the back room for spares. It’s a lot of standing around and talking to contractors or homeowners. The dust from the street gets in, so we’re always wiping down the glass counters. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know where the various fuses and tools are kept. Sometimes the shop gets crowded when three people are all asking for different lengths of wire at once. It can be a bit chaotic. We just try to get everyone what they need so they can go finish their wiring or get their lights working again. We’ve seen all sorts of electrical problems over the years. It’s a steady kind of life, opening up every morning and seeing what people are fixing today. Just a basic shop in a very busy part of town.
