Anand Book Depot

Anand Book Depot is a small shop located at number 62 in the Lakshmi Market over in Munirka. If you walk through the market, you can’t miss us; we are the ones with books stacked almost to the ceiling. It’s a bit of a tight squeeze inside, especially when we have a lot of students coming in at the start of a new semester. We carry all sorts of things, from school textbooks to local magazines and some stationery items too. The shelves are a bit old and they sag a little under the weight, but they hold up. I’ve been running this place for a long time, and I know exactly where every book is, even if it looks like a mess to anyone else. It’s not a quiet library type of place. It’s loud, dusty, and there is always a lot of haggling going on over the price of a used notebook. We don't have a computer system to track everything; I mostly just remember what we have in stock or I go looking through the piles. Lakshmi Market is always crowded, and our shop is no different. We open early and stay open until the last of the customers head home. It is a simple life, surrounded by paper and ink. People come here because they know we usually have that one random book they can't find anywhere else in Munirka.
