Amjad Khan

My shop is located at Shop No C 8 on the Main Road in Gokul Puri. It’s right there where everyone passes by on their way to work or home. Being on the Main Road means it’s never really quiet at any time of the day. There is always the sound of horns and people talking right outside the door. I’ve been running this place for quite some time now. It’s just a small shop, not one of those big fancy stores you see in the new malls. I handle all the daily business myself, mostly dealing with people from the neighborhood who stop by to see what I have. The shop is a bit cramped because I try to keep everything I need within reach of my chair. I open up the shutters every morning around the same time. The dust from the road is a constant battle, but you just get used to wiping things down. I have a small stool I sit on when there aren't many customers around. People know me by name in this part of Gokul Puri. It’s a simple life. I don't have a website or anything like that; I just do my business face to face with the locals. Sometimes my friends from the nearby shops come over for a chat and some tea in the afternoon. It’s a good community. I keep the shop organized in my own way.
