I’ve been working out of Tis Hazari at K 49 for quite some time now. If you’ve ever been to the courts here, you know how hectic it gets. There are people everywhere, lawyers rushing around, and clerks carrying massive bundles of files. My spot is just a small part of that madness. It’s not a big office, just a place to sit and get the work done. The walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but there’s never really any time to stop and do it. I spend most of my day talking to people or typing things out. The fan overhead makes a bit of a clicking noise that I don’t even notice anymore. Sometimes it feels like the whole building is vibrating with the energy of all the cases going on. I usually grab a snack from one of the vendors nearby when I get a spare minute. It’s a tough environment, very competitive and loud. But you get to know the regulars. We nod to each other in the hallways. K 49 is where I spend most of my waking hours. It’s not fancy, and it’s definitely not quiet, but it’s where the work is. I keep my desk as organized as I can, though it usually ends up covered in paper by noon. There isn't much room for anything else. People come in and out all day, asking questions or dropping off documents. It is just the way things work in this part of Delhi.
