Amit Kumar

The office is right on Tis Hazari Main Road at K 43 A. If you know the area, you know how busy it gets with all the legal activity and the people rushing to the courts. My name is Amit Kumar, and I spend my days here trying to stay on top of things. The traffic outside is constant, a mix of cars, bikes, and those little electric rickshaws. The front door of our place is a bit heavy and squeaks when you open it, no matter how much oil I put on the hinges. Inside, it’s a bit of a relief from the heat and the dust of the road. I have a big map of the area pinned to one wall and a calendar that is usually covered in scribbles. We don't have a fancy lobby or anything; you just walk right into the workspace. I usually have a few files open on my desk and a half-empty cup of tea nearby. It’s a very practical space. The ceiling fan is old and wobbles a little when it's on high speed, but it keeps the air moving. I get a lot of walk-ins because of the location, mostly people looking for directions or asking if I know a good lawyer. I’ve lived in this city all my life, so I don’t mind the chaos of the main road.
