Alok Kumar Sharma

My office is tucked away in the Dak Bhavan, specifically in the R K Jain Block at the Supreme Court Of India. My name is Alok Kumar Sharma and I have been working out of room 113 for a good while now. It is a very busy place to be, as you can imagine with the court being right there. There are always people rushing around with bundles of papers and black robes. The atmosphere is quite serious, but inside my space, I try to keep things a bit more relaxed. I have a few old wooden cabinets that hold years of documents. The windows look out toward the other blocks, and sometimes you can see the crowd gathering near the gates. It can get very hot in the summer months, especially in these older buildings, but the ceiling fan does its job well enough. I usually get in early before the main rush starts. Dealing with the mail and the various filings takes up most of my day. It isn't a glamorous job, but it is important to the people who come to see me. I know most of the security guards and the other staff in the block by name. We sometimes share a quick conversation in the hallway. Being at the heart of the legal area means things are always moving, and there is rarely a quiet moment during the day.
