Ajay Plastics

Ajay Plastics is our small family business located at 1460 Bahadurgarh Road in Sadar Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Sadar Bazar, you know it’s absolute chaos most of the time. There are rickshaws, carts, and thousands of people moving through the narrow lanes every single hour. Our shop is tucked away in that madness. We deal in all kinds of plastic goods, from household buckets to small containers and toys. The shop is basically a tall room where we stack everything right up to the ceiling. Sometimes it feels like the whole pile might come down, but we have a system for getting things out. It’s physically demanding work, moving heavy bags and boxes in the heat and humidity. My brother and I have been running the place since our uncle retired. We don’t have a fancy display window or air conditioning. We just have a couple of stools and a small desk where we keep our accounts. The noise from the street never really stops, and you have to have a loud voice to talk to customers over the sound of the horns outside. It’s a very old-school way of doing business, based on long-term relationships and knowing the market well. We get here early to beat the worst of the traffic and usually leave long after the sun has gone down. It’s a tough life in the market, but it’s our life.
