Aiims

This address is actually for the Resident Doctor Hostel, room 201, over at Aiims in the Masjid Moth area of New Delhi. It’s not really a business in the traditional sense, but it’s where a lot of us stay and work from. Being part of Aiims means the pace is always fast and there's never a quiet moment. The hostel is just a place to sleep and maybe grab a quick meal between shifts. It’s quite basic, with just the essentials you’d expect in a doctor’s residence. There are books everywhere and medical journals piled up on the small table. You can hear the sounds of the city and the hospital nearby all the time. It’s a very busy part of New Delhi 49. People are always coming and going at odd hours of the night. We don’t have a fancy office; it’s just a living space that doubles as a workspace for some. Life here is mostly about the hospital and the patients. We don't really have time for anything polished or formal. It's just a group of people trying to get through their residency and do their jobs. The building is old but it serves its purpose. It's a very functional, no-nonsense kind of place to be. We have a tiny balcony that looks out over the street. Most of our time is spent in the wards, so this room is just a quiet retreat when we can get it.
