Agarwal Transformers

You can find us at 292 B/6 in Mukundpur, which is part of Badli Phase 1. We work on transformers here. It’s a workshop filled with copper wire, heavy metal casings, and oil. The ground is often a bit stained from the work we do. We aren't a big factory with robots. We do most of the assembly and repairs by hand or with simple machines. It’s heavy work, and we often have to use a pulley to move things around. The neighborhood is industrial, so there’s always the sound of machines and trucks nearby. We don't have a fancy office for meetings; we just talk to people right there on the shop floor. Our clothes usually get pretty dirty by the end of the day. We’ve been handling electrical equipment for a long time and we know how dangerous it can be, so we stay careful. We don't write big reports or have meetings about strategy. We just look at the transformer that isn't working and try to fix it. Sometimes we build new ones from scratch. It takes time and patience to wind the coils properly. We take lunch together in the corner of the shed. It’s not a glamorous life, but we take pride in knowing that the things we fix help keep the lights on for others. It is just the work we have always done.
