Aegan Batteries Ltd. is located at No. C-2 in the D.S.I.D.C. Complex, F.I.E., over in the Patparganj Industrial Area of Delhi. If you’ve ever been to Patparganj, you know it’s a maze of different units and warehouses. We’ve been tucked away in this complex for a long time. Our work is all about batteries—making them, testing them, and shipping them out. It’s a bit of a messy business, to be honest. There’s a lot of lead and acid around, so we have to be careful, but it’s what we know. The office is right next to the production area, so it’s never really quiet. You can always hear the hum of the machines and the sounds of the workers. We aren't a high-tech startup with bean bags and free snacks. We’re a battery factory. We have metal desks, old calendars on the walls, and a lot of heavy-duty shelving. People in Delhi need batteries for everything, from cars to backup power, so we stay pretty busy. The traffic in and out of the industrial area can be a nightmare in the evenings, but we’re used to it by now. We just focus on getting the cells built right and making sure the orders are ready for pickup. It’s not a fancy life, but it’s our life. We’ve got a good crew here who knows their stuff, and we just keep plugging away day after day. Sometimes the tea man comes by and that is the highlight of the afternoon for us.
