Adhunik Alluminium Fabric

Our workshop is over in Yamuna Vihar at B-1612. We spend most of our days working with aluminium, mostly making window frames and doors for houses around here. It is a noisy place because of the saws and the drilling. The floor is always covered in silver shavings that get stuck in your shoes. We don't have a showroom with bright lights. If you come here, you just see us working in our dusty clothes. I started this with my younger brother. We learned the trade from an old man in another part of the city. We have a few basic machines that have seen better days but they still get the job done. Sometimes a customer brings a drawing that is hard to figure out, so we just sit and scratch our heads for a bit. We don't use any fancy computer software for the designs. We just use a pencil and a ruler on a piece of cardboard. The lane outside is quite narrow, so getting the long aluminium sections in can be a bit of a chore. We try to be honest about how long a job will take. If we say three days, we try our best to stick to it. It’s just us working hard and trying to make a living in the neighborhood.
