Our workshop, Acrylic Works, is in the middle of Paharganj at Chuna Mandi 3044/2. If you know Paharganj, you know how narrow and busy the lanes are. We work with acrylic sheets and cut them into different shapes. The air is always filled with a bit of plastic dust from the sawing. It’s a small unit. We have our tools and a couple of workbenches. It’s often quite noisy with the sound of cutting and polishing. We don’t have a showroom. Customers usually come to the door with a drawing or an idea of what they need. We just take the measurements and get to it. The building is old, and the stairs are steep. We’ve been in this spot for years. Most of our work comes from people who walk by or other shops in the area. We don’t use any fancy advertising. We just focus on the pieces we are making that day. Sometimes we have a lot of scrap pieces piled up in the corner. We try to keep it organized, but it’s hard when you’re busy. Working in Chuna Mandi means you’re never really in a quiet place. There is always someone calling out or a scooter honking. We like being part of the bustle. It’s an honest day’s work for us. We don't make it complicated. We just cut the plastic and finish the orders for the people who ask.
