We are right near the Krishna Nagar Metro Station at E 6/16. Acrylic India is where we spend most of our waking hours. As you can guess from the name, we work with acrylic sheets. We cut them, bend them, and glue them into all sorts of shapes for our customers. The shop is full of clear scraps and that sharp smell of the adhesive we use to put things together. It is a bit of a delicate process because acrylic scratches so easily if you are not careful. We have to be very cautious when we move the big sheets around the floor. The metro station nearby makes it easy for people to find us, but it also means there is a lot of noise from the trains overhead all day. We do not have a showroom with fancy displays. Customers usually just walk into the workspace and see us covered in dust. We show them samples of what we have done before and they tell us what they want. It is a very direct way of doing business. We do not use any complicated ordering systems. We just write everything down in a diary. Sometimes the power cuts out and we have to stop the saws, which is frustrating for everyone. We just wait for it to come back and pick up where we left off. We are just a few people working with plastic.
