Acharya Yaminiraman

This is Acharya Yaminiraman. I am based in Lajpat Nagar at B 148. This neighborhood is always buzzing with people shopping and walking around the markets. My place is in the B block, which is a bit more residential than the main market areas. I have lived and worked at B 148 for many years now. It is a white building with a small black gate. Inside, I have set up a space where I can focus on my work. It is very quiet once you step inside the front door. I prefer it that way. I do not like the loud city noise when I am trying to think or read. Most days I have people coming in and out from morning until late evening. I do not really have a reception area or a secretary. People just sit in the living room until I am ready to see them. It is very informal and relaxed. I make my own tea in the small kitchen and sometimes I share it with whoever is waiting. I think it makes people feel more at home and less nervous. Lajpat Nagar is a great place because everything is so close. I can walk to get whatever I need for the house. The address B 148 is easy to spot from the main road if you know which turn to take. I have seen the kids on this street grow up and move away. It is that kind of stable neighborhood.
