Working at Patiala House Courts is always an experience. My spot is on the Main Road, at number 662. If you have ever been to the courts in Delhi, you know how loud and crowded it gets. There are people everywhere, lawyers in black robes, and people looking for help with their cases. My desk is usually covered in folders and stacks of paper that seem to never get smaller. The traffic on the main road outside is constant, with horns honking all through the day. I have been here for a while, and you just get used to the noise after a bit. I usually start my day quite early before the main rush starts. I grab a cup of tea from the vendor near the gate and look over what needs to be done. It is not a quiet office environment by any means. People are always dropping in with questions or documents that need to be filed. The walls are a bit dusty and the furniture has seen better days, but it works for what I need. It is a very public place to be, and you meet all sorts of people from every walk of life. Sometimes the heat in the summer makes the walk from the parking area feel like a long journey. But this is the routine I have had for years. It is just a plain, busy life on the court road.
