The Army Traders

You can find us at No. 59 on Gandhi Road. It’s a busy street and there is always something going on outside our door. Being on Gandhi Road means we get a lot of the city noise, the honking and the people walking by, but we have gotten used to it over the years. The Army Traders has been operating from this spot for quite a while. The building itself is older, with high ceilings and those heavy doors that take a bit of effort to push open. Inside, it smells a bit like old paper and fabric, which isn't a bad thing. We have rows of items stacked up, and we know where almost everything is, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the back to keep things lively while we work. It’s a small team here, so everyone ends up doing a bit of everything, from packing boxes to answering the landline. We don't have a fancy website or a marketing department. We just focus on getting the orders right and making sure the inventory is where it should be. The sun hits the front of the shop in the morning, making it the best time to get things done before the afternoon heat settles in on the road. Most days we are just busy checking the stock and preparing for the next day's deliveries. It is a simple life but it keeps us on our toes.
