Selfei Stores

Selfei Stores is located right at Kargi Chowk in the Vanjara Wala area. It is a good spot for us because there are always people walking by throughout the day. We get a lot of morning foot traffic from people heading off to work or school. Our shop is not very huge, so we have to be quite careful about how we stack the shelves. Every inch of space we have really counts. Sometimes it feels like we are playing a game with the boxes just to make everything fit. We have a small wooden stool behind the counter where we sit when things are quiet, but that doesn't happen very often. The chowk can get very loud with all the horns and people shouting to one another. We are used to the noise by now and it just feels like the normal sound of our day. We have some regular customers who come in every single day just to say hello or buy a small item. We know their names and what they are usually looking for. The lighting inside is a bit dim towards the back, but we know exactly where everything is kept. We don't have a big staff, just us and a relative who helps out when it gets busy on weekends. When the sun starts to set, the light hits the front window and we have to pull the shade down. It is a simple life here at the store.
