Aval Fashion House

Our shop is on Canal Road in the Jakhan area of Dehradun. It’s a nice enough spot, right at 15/5, and we’ve been here for a while now. Being in Uttarakhand, we get a lot of different weather, but the mountain air is always a plus. We deal with clothes and fashion, but it’s more of a hands-on thing here than a fancy boutique. There’s usually fabric scraps on the floor and the sound of sewing machines going in the back room. We don't have a big flashy window display, just some of the stuff we’ve been working on lately hanging up. People from around the neighborhood stop by to see what’s new or to get something adjusted. It’s a bit of a squeeze when we get a lot of fabric delivered at once. We’re not trying to be some big international brand. We just like making clothes that people can actually wear. The staff here are mostly local people who have a good eye for how things should fit. Sometimes we get behind on things when a big order comes in, but we usually catch up by staying a bit late and drinking more tea. It’s a regular shop with regular people, and we like the pace of life here in Dehradun. No one wears suits or acts like they’re in a movie. We just work with the cloth and hope people like what they get.
