We are based over at 354, Gugal Road in the Pendeywala area of Jwalapur. Being in Hardwar, things can get pretty crowded outside the doors. Most days, we just come in, switch on the fans, and get to work on whatever drawings are on the desk. Abm Architects Pvt. Ltd. has been at this address for a bit now. The building isn't anything special to look at, just a regular spot on a busy street. Uttarakhand weather keeps us on our toes, especially during the monsoon when the rain hits the roof so loud you can’t hear the person next to you talking. We spend a lot of time looking at site maps and local building codes. There is a tea stall down the road that we visit way too often when the afternoon slump hits. The office is full of old folders and half-empty rolls of tracing paper. It gets dusty because of the road traffic, so we are always wiping down the tables. We don't have a fancy receptionist or anything like that. Usually, it's just one of us answering the phone while trying to finish a sketch. Sometimes clients drop by without calling, and we just find a chair for them amidst the mess. It’s a practical space for people who actually do the work. We just stay focused on the plans and try to keep things moving along without too much fuss. It's just a regular workday here most of the time.
