About Homoeopathic College – Education in Darbhanga
Our college is right in the heart of Fakira Khan in Urdu Bazar, Darbhanga. If you know the area, you know it is always crowded and there is a lot of trade going on. We are tucked away in an old building that has seen a lot of history. Students come here from all over Bihar to learn about homoeopathic medicine. The air inside the labs usually smells a bit like alcohol and herbs because of all the tinctures we keep on the shelves. It’s not like a modern hospital with white walls and bright lights. It’s more traditional, with heavy wooden cabinets and lots of glass bottles. The stairs are a bit narrow and they creak when a lot of people are moving between floors. We have a small area where students can sit and read their textbooks, though it gets quite humid in the summer. Everyone just uses the hand fans and keeps going. The local tea seller knows exactly when our classes finish because he gets a rush of students every afternoon. It is a very practical place to study. We don't spend much time on fancy decorations. Most of the focus is on the books and understanding how the remedies work. People in the bazaar often stop by to ask questions. It’s a busy, dusty, but very dedicated place to learn. The students are serious because they want to help people back in their villages.
