Vijaya Mahila Sanga (Acbo Of Spad Ngo

This organization is based in Mangalore, specifically in the 574236 area code. We have been part of the community here for quite some time, working as an ACBO under the SPAD NGO umbrella. Our office is a simple space where women from the local area come together. It is not a fancy building with glass walls or anything. It is more of a community hub where you can hear a lot of talking and planning going on. We handle a lot of different things to help out the ladies in our neighborhood. The weather in Mangalore can be quite humid, so we usually have the fans going full blast all day. We have a few old wooden tables and chairs where we sit for our meetings. There is usually a pot of tea somewhere and some paperwork stacked up on the side. It is a very grassroots kind of feel. People just drop in when they need something or want to discuss a project. We do not have a formal reception desk or a strict schedule for everything. We just try to be useful and help wherever we can. Sometimes the office gets a bit noisy when everyone is talking at once, but that is just how it is when you are working with the community. It is an honest place and we all just do our bit to keep things moving forward for the women here in Karnataka. It is hard work but it is important to us.
