S.M. Steels

We've been running S.M. Steels out of this spot in Hosabettu for quite a while now. It’s right on NH 66, so we get a lot of trucks passing by all day. If you’re coming from Kulai, you’ll see us near Mahadev Granites. The shop is usually covered in a bit of dust because of the highway traffic, but that’s just how it is here. Most days start early with unloading shipments. We have a few guys helping with the heavy lifting of the steel rods and sheets. It’s hard work, especially when the sun is beating down on the metal. We don’t have any fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk, some chairs, and a lot of inventory taking up space. Sometimes customers come in with specific measurements, and we try to find what fits. Other times, people just want to see what we have in stock for their home repairs. It’s a busy road, and sometimes the noise makes it hard to hear the phone ringing. We’ve seen the neighborhood change a bit over the years, more buildings going up. We just keep doing what we do. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s our living. We know the regulars who stop by, and we usually have a tea while discussing the latest news. It's just a regular local business trying to get through the work week like everyone else around here in the Kulai area.
