Kamath Metal Works

Kamath Metal Works is based out of Plot No. R-10 in the Industrial Estate at Baikampady. Being in an industrial estate means there is always something going on around us, with trucks moving and other shops working late. Our plot is a decent size, and we’ve filled it up with all sorts of metalworking machinery over the years. It’s a loud environment, but we’re used to it by now. We started small and slowly added more tools as we could afford them. The office is just a small room at the front where we keep the ledger and take phone calls. It’s usually covered in dust from the shop floor. We do a lot of different metal jobs, some big and some small. There’s no real corporate structure here; we all just pitch in where needed. If the floor needs sweeping, one of us does it. If a machine needs oiling, someone gets it done. We’ve had some long days here, especially when a big order needs to go out by morning. The weather in Baikampady can be quite humid, which makes the work a bit tiring, but we have a good group of guys who don't complain much. We just focus on getting the metal cut and shaped correctly. It’s what we know how to do, and we’ve been doing it at this same plot for quite a while now. We usually share some tea in the afternoon to keep going.
