About Moogambigai Metal Refineries – Metals & Minerals in Dakshina Kannada
We operate out of Plot No. 89 and 90 in the industrial area at Baikampady. It’s a big space because metal refining needs room for the equipment and the raw materials we bring in. The area is mostly other factories and workshops, so it’s pretty noisy from morning until the evening. We have two plots joined together, which helps when we have several trucks arriving at the same time. The air in Baikampady always smells a bit like salt and machinery since we’re not too far from the coast. Working with metal is heavy, dirty work. Most of the time, we’re covered in soot or dust, and the heat from the refining process is something you just get used to after a while. We don’t have a fancy office. Most of the paperwork happens on a small desk near the main bay where we can keep an eye on everything. The ground is mostly concrete and dirt, and it’s seen a lot of wear over the years. We’ve had to patch up the roof a few times after the heavy monsoon seasons we get here. It’s a practical setup, nothing more. We don't really do much in the way of decoration. If you’re looking for us, you just look for the gates at 89 and 90. Most of the guys working here have been with us for years, so we’re a pretty tight-knit group.
