Down in Burda, you’ll find us at Badadeo Farmer Producer Company Limited. We are set up over at Pradip Thanapatiburda’s place. It’s a pretty simple operation we have got going here. Most of us have been farming since we were kids, so starting a company together felt like the natural next step. We do not have a big staff or anything, just a few local guys and girls who know how to handle the crops and the books. The sun gets pretty hot out here, but we have got some shade where we talk about the season's plans. We mostly focus on what the local families are growing in their back fields. It’s a lot of manual labor and checking on the water levels every morning. We do not go in for anything too complicated. If the grain is good, we are happy. If the prices are fair, even better. The office is usually cluttered with sample bags and some old ledgers. People from the village come by to ask about when the next truck is coming or if we have any extra supplies. We try to help out where we can. It’s a quiet life in our corner of the world, and we just keep our heads down and work. There is always something to fix or someone to see about a delivery. We are just trying to make a living like everyone else around here. It is honest work for us.
