Out here in Badabhuinbaharbila, we mostly just worry about the weather and the crops. Arnna Data Sena Tigiria Farmer Producer Company Limited started because a few of us neighbors realized we were all facing the same problems with getting our stuff to the markets. We set things up at Pabana Senapati’s place. It’s not a fancy office or anything, just a spot where we can sit down and talk about what seeds we need or how the season is looking. Most days you’ll find some of the local guys hanging around there talking about the price of rice or how the soil is holding up after the rain. We aren't trying to be some big corporate thing. It's just a group of farmers from Tigiria trying to make things a bit easier for everyone who works the land around here. Sometimes the paperwork gets confusing, but we manage. We’ve all lived here our whole lives, so we know each other's families and the fields they work. When someone has a good harvest, it’s good for the whole village. We share what we know. It’s better than trying to do everything alone. That's really all there is to it. We keep things simple because that is how life is in the village. If you come by the village, you'll see how we work. It’s hard work, but it’s our life and we wouldn't change it.
