Jaigaon Steel Centre

Our place, Jaigaon Steel Centre, is right on M.G. Road here in Jaigaon. We are part of the Alipurduar district, so we see a lot of people coming through from the surrounding villages. Steel is what we do, mostly for local construction and small home projects. The shop stays pretty busy since M.G. Road is a main path. We carry various rods, sheets, and pipes. It’s a lot of heavy work, loading and unloading trucks that come in from the bigger cities. We don't have a website or anything like that. People just walk in and ask for what they need. Sometimes we have to cut things to size, which takes a bit of time. The noise can get loud with all the metal clanging around. We’ve been at this spot for years. It’s a simple business. We know most of the contractors around here by name. They trust us to have the right stuff when they show up. The weather in Alipurduar can be a bit tricky sometimes, but we keep the stock dry under the sheds. If you're driving down M.G. Road, you'll see the stacks of steel outside. That’s us. Just a regular local shop trying to get the job done right. We don't make a big fuss about things and just focus on the daily tasks. It is hard work but it keeps the neighborhood building and growing.
