Vettaikaranpudur Farmer Producer Company Limited

We work out of C/O N. Janarthanan S/O Nachimuthu Dno47Sethumadai Road, Anaimalai. It is a well-known spot around here. Vettaikaranpudur Farmer Producer Company Limited is a group of farmers who decided to pull our resources together. We mostly deal with the crops that grow well in the Anaimalai hills and the plains below. Our office is just a simple room with a few chairs and a lot of ledgers. It gets quite loud with the traffic on Sethumadai Road, but we don't mind it much. We spend most of our time out on the plantations anyway. We talk about the price of coconuts and the cost of labor almost every day. It’s not a polished business environment. There are usually some sacks of grain or tools leaning against the walls. We don't have a big staff, just us farmers taking turns to look after the books. We don't use any fancy business talk. We just say things as they are. If the crop is bad, we say it’s bad. If the price is low, we try to find a better way. It is just a bunch of neighbors trying to make the farming life a bit more stable. We’ve been here for a while and most people know to come to Janarthanan’s place if they need us. We are just trying to keep the land working for the future of our children and our town.
