Uzhavan Hi-Tech Agri Farms Private Limited

We are situated at 1.14.18Z3 in Settia Gounder Thottam. The name of the company says hi-tech but really we are just a bunch of farmers trying to use some newer methods on our land to see if they work. The office is right there on the farm property so we are always close to the dirt and the plants we are growing. It’s a private limited company but it feels more like a family setup because most of the people involved are neighbors from the Settia Gounder area. We spend a lot of time looking at different ways to grow things more efficiently. It doesn't always go according to plan and we’ve had our fair share of mistakes with new equipment and different seeds over the years. But that is just part of the learning process for us. The office is usually a mess of manuals and soil samples that we need to send off for testing. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that, so if you show up you might have to wait a minute for someone to come in from the fields. It’s a practical way of doing things and it keeps our costs down for everyone involved. We mostly just focus on the farming and trying to make the Uzhavan name mean something to the local community here. There’s always work to do whether it’s fixing a pipe or updating the records on the computer at the end of a long day.
