Uzhavae Thalai Collective Farmers Producer Company Limited is located in Ediyarpalayam, Coimbatore. Our place is Kallimettu Thottam, with the new address being 2/82-A. It used to be 2/95. It’s a bit of a trek to get out here, but it’s where the work happens. Coimbatore is known for being a hub, but we stay focused on the farming side of things. We’re a group of farmers who decided it was better to work as a collective. The office is right there among the fields, so we’re never far from the crops. It’s a noisy place with tractors and people coming through all the time. We don't have a polished look. There’s usually some mud on the floor and stacks of sacks waiting to be moved. We spend our time talking about soil quality, water, and where to sell what we grow. It’s not always smooth sailing. Sometimes we argue about how things should be done, but we’re all neighbors so it gets sorted out. We don't have a website or any of those things. We just talk to people face to face. It feels more honest that way. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there. We just want to make sure the farming community here stays strong. It's tough work, but being together at Kallimettu Thottam makes it a little bit easier for everyone involved.
