Twiga Flowers

Twiga Flowers is located right at No. 23 on the Mettupalayam Main Road. Being on the main road means there is always traffic and people walking by. It gets pretty loud with the buses and cars, but that’s just part of being in this spot. We deal with flowers every single day. Most mornings start way before dawn when the fresh loads come in. We spend a lot of time trimming stems, cleaning up leaves, and making sure everything stays hydrated in the heat. It is a messy job, honestly. Your hands get stained and there are always bits of greenery on the floor that need sweeping. We aren't a boutique with ribbons and fancy displays; we are more of a practical operation. We handle the bulk of the flowers and make sure they get where they need to go. The shop gets humid from all the water we use to keep the plants fresh. Sometimes we run out of space when a big shipment arrives, so we have to stack things carefully. People stop by because they see the colors from the street. We just stay busy with the cutting and the packing. It is a lot of physical work, standing on your feet for hours, but we are used to the rhythm of the main road.
