Sri Farms

Over at Sri Farms on 1/105 Kannappan Street in Pollachi, things are usually moving at a pretty steady pace. Pollachi is known for its green spaces, and we are right in the thick of it. My family and a couple of helpers run the place. We don't have a big marketing department or anyone like that. It’s just us on the ground. Most of our time is spent outdoors, which is nice until the sun gets really fierce in the afternoon. Then we usually take a break under the trees for a bit. The street is quiet for the most part, except when the tractors go by. We’ve got some sheds and a bit of open land where we manage the daily chores. It’s a lot of bending over and lifting things, so you feel it in your back by the end of the day. We don't really have a set closing time; we just finish when the work is done. Sometimes that’s early, and sometimes we’re still out there with flashlights. We like the way things are here on Kannappan Street. It feels like home because it is home. We don’t talk about big goals or anything. We just hope the crops or the animals do well this year so we can keep the lights on and the place running for another season.
