Our place is located at No. 99/2 A inside the Sri Maruthi Industrial Estate. Chinnavedampatty is a busy area, especially with all the small units and workshops packed into this estate. You can hear the sound of machines and metal hitting metal pretty much from sunrise to sunset. It is a bit dusty and loud, but that is the nature of an industrial estate like this one. We have been working out of this unit for a few years now and have gotten to know the guys in the neighboring sheds pretty well. We often share a tea at the corner stall when things slow down for a minute. The space is not very large, but we make it work by keeping things as organized as we can. It gets quite hot in the afternoons under the metal roofing, so we usually try to get the heavy stuff done early. Most of the people who come by are here for business, so there isn't much small talk. We just focus on the jobs at hand. Staying on top of the schedule is the main thing. Sometimes deliveries get delayed because the trucks have a hard time navigating the narrow lanes between the buildings here. It can be frustrating, but we just deal with it as it comes. It is just a regular work life for us in this corner of the city. We keep the machines running and the floor swept.
