Sign Era

Sign Era is located at No 11/11 on Asbestos Street in Mettur, Podanur. It’s a bit of an older part of town, and the street name always makes people double-check the address when they first hear it. We’ve been here long enough that the building feels like an old friend. Making signs is what we do all day. You’ll usually find us out back or in the main workspace with various materials like metal, plastic, or vinyl. It’s a noisy job sometimes, especially when we’re cutting things to size. The air smells like adhesive and paint most afternoons. We don’t have a fancy front office with a receptionist. Usually, if you walk in, you’ll have to wait a second for one of us to put down a tool and come over to talk. Our desks are covered in scrap pieces and old order forms. It’s not that we’re messy, we just have a lot going on at once. Podanur is a good place for a shop like ours because we can get to most places fairly easily. We don't really do much in the way of advertising. Most of our work comes from people seeing our signs around town and asking who made them. It’s a practical business. We show up, we make the signs, and we go home. That’s pretty much how things go at our little spot on Asbestos Street every single week.
