Our place is located on Athipalayam Road in the Chinnavedampatty area. The specific spot is Sf-No-16, and it’s right where the industrial vibe of the town starts to take over. We have a decent-sized shed where we do most of our production. The sound of the machines is pretty constant from morning until evening. It’s the kind of noise you get used to after a few days, though it can be loud for someone just visiting. Chinnavedampatty has changed a lot lately, but our routine stays mostly the same. We arrive, check the schedule, and start the motors. There’s a lot of moving heavy materials around, so we’re always on our feet. The floor is concrete and usually has some scuff marks from the crates we drag across it. We don’t have a fancy office with air conditioning. We just have a small desk in the corner where we keep the paperwork and the logbooks. Sometimes the delivery trucks get delayed because of the traffic on Athipalayam Road, which throws a wrench in our plans for the day. We just deal with it as it comes. It’s a lot of hard work and physical labor, but there’s a certain satisfaction in seeing a pile of raw materials turn into finished products by the end of the week. We just keep our heads down and stay focused on the tasks in front of us, making sure the machines keep running properly.
