Spider Springs is tucked away in the Subbathal Layout in Rathinapuri. Our address is New No. 111, though some people still know it as Old No. 20. It’s a quiet enough street until you get inside our place. Making springs is a noisy business. We have machines that coil wire into all sorts of shapes and sizes. There’s always the sound of metal clicking and clunking. We make small springs for delicate things and much bigger ones for heavy machinery. The floor is usually covered in little bits of metal shavings. It’s a workshop, through and through. We don't have a fancy office for meetings; we usually just talk to people right there on the shop floor. We’ve been in the Subbathal Layout for a long time now. We know the machines inside and out, and we know how to fix them when they act up. It’s a specialized kind of work. Not many people think about springs until they need one, but we think about them all day. We check the tension and the durability of everything we make. Sometimes the coils don't come out right, so we have to adjust the settings and try again. It’s all about getting the right bounce or the right hold. We are just a small team of people who like working with our hands and making something that actually serves a purpose. Rathinapuri has been a good home for our little factory.
