Naveena Drawing School

We are located on the 2nd Floor of the Designare Complex, which is at 130 Nanjappa Road in Coimbatore Central. Being on the second floor means there is a bit of a climb, but it gets us away from the main street noise of Coimbatore. The school is basically a collection of rooms filled with drawing boards, pencils, and paper. It’s not a very fancy setup. We have stools for the students and some shelves where we keep all the art supplies and half-finished projects. People of different ages come here to learn the basics of drawing. Some are just kids and others are older folks looking for a hobby. We don't have any big missions or grand philosophies; we just show people how to hold a pencil and look at shapes. The light in the rooms is okay, but we use some extra lamps when it gets cloudy outside. Nanjappa Road is always busy, so there is plenty of life right outside our door. Sometimes the complex gets a bit crowded with people visiting the other offices, but our corner stays fairly quiet for the artists. We spend our days sharpening pencils and cleaning up charcoal dust. It’s a bit messy, as any place with art should be. We just provide the space and the time for people to practice their skills in a simple, quiet way.
